37 Cars for the elleventh Christmas crash end of year wreck fest at the r/c banger hq.
A few nice cars tonight with the first genuine mk2 Granada limo for 428 Colin Mills, 424 Fred Webb mk2 Granny, 355 Rob Forbes Mk2 est. and 101 Garry Deacon A95 Bubble westy, all four taking tonights smart car awards.
Three heats this evening, 45 laps with 1 consolation final & as many that can be put into the A final.
Heat 3 Round 3.
1st 140 Tom Massey, 2nd 40 Tony Gomez, 3rd 355 Rob Forbes, 4th 22 Dave Preston, 5th 27 Glynn Jones.
Onto the 14 car consolation final, 205 Kieran Briddock won 5 laps ahead of 546 Kerry Goldstone with 70 James Mackie in 3rd.
33 Cars lined up for the Christmas Crash XI final equaling the largest grid size set earlier in the year by the hot's club, 80 laps awaited the drivers, soon into the racing the track was litred with dead cars. cars stuck in the wires & even a couple of track blockages though the drivers rammed there way through the carnage, with the eventuall winner & new to r/c bangers 40 Tony Gomez took the christmas crash title 9 laps ahead of runner up & team mate 228 Karl Dillworth with 3rd going to 355 Rob Forbes, both drivers completing 71 laps, 4th 408 Phill Cracknell, 5th 428 Colin Mills, 6th 405 Barry Mesner, 7th 501 Billy Saunders, 8th 113 Daren Wood, 9th 27 Glynn Jones, 10th 406 Brad Dillworth.
Next up was the destruction derby with all cars making it back out to finnish off there cars for one last hit, plenty of pile up's and motors blowing with 125 Nathan Webb sending out smoke signals in the middle of the turn one pile up, the last two cars running being 40 Tony Gomez did enough to finnish off 54 Alec Quarman leaving the Mk2 granny on it's side & 40 Tony to take the final & dd win, 215 Daft Daz took the best wrecked award & best wrecker went to 113 Daren Wood after he destroyed the 215 Granny to end another year of what many drivers called another epic night at the HQ.
