The first running of the old skool team tournament, with a different format tonight from normal team racing, all heats were head to heads. 12 Teams drawn into pairs with each heat being 50 laps, points awarded as 1st 10 points, 2nd 5 points, 3rd 1 point but with an extra 10 bonus points available to any team taking out the opposition & being last team running in there heat.

Round 1.
Anarchists vs Essex Bad BOYS
1st 134(A), 2nd 54(A), 3rd 551(EBB)
So afetr all the round, none of the teams managed the bonus point, though it was very close with the Riverview Wreckers totaly destroying the Team Wacky cars of 777 Anthony & 99 Reece Carter with 777 taking wreck of the night, Time 2 Crash 331 Tom Stearn put 93 Dawn Fenn of the Team Swarm through the fence then 159 Marie Ainsworth of Time 2 Crash picked up 14 Liam Fenn for a full legnth of the straight follow in. The Essex Monsters team making there debut showed they were will to crash turning it around in all three of there heats, The Bears vs Anarchists was also another heavy heat with Bears 424 Fredd Webb being the only car left running for his team & 134 Jamie Harding winning all three heats for the Anarchists. The Midnight Runners soon got back to winning ways after loosing the Essex final & scoring well to make the finals. Pinky Crew battled well all night with 170 Tommy Harding & 516 Nikki Alkins scoring well as did the Essex Bad Boys, another new team also did well & made the final. Canvey Cowboys went wrrcking all night withy 01 Emma Quarman making her final appearance in team racing, 103 Jack Deacon also scoring well taking a win in a hard battle against the Suicide Squad with 10 Jake Simmington, 21 Ben & 572 Calre Warry all getting stuck in.

So the top five teams went through to the final which was 100 laps or last team running, 331 Rodderwood took up the running along with team mate 730 Wrecko (T2C) with 134 Tiny & 54 Hardcore (A) with 555 Dan (MR), 515 Mug first to retire on 3 laps along with team mates 348 Darren & 48 Thomas (MR), 57 Rick Stearn found a pile up with 498 Jason Curtis (RW) using the Mk10 Jag.to stop anything moving, (EBB)630 Ian Anderws was next out on 24 laps, closely followed by by 808 Dan Harber (RW) & 273 Niel Andrews & 305 Mandy Jones (EBB), with the field slowly expiring, (RW) 963 Allen Anderson found himself on the wrong side of the posts, 331 Rodderwood & 730 Wrecko(T2C) still out in front, (A) 134 Tiny was stuck in the centre & team mate 54 Hardcore then turned it around,(MR) 555 was catching the leaders fast only to stop afetr 74 laps, (T2C)159 Mayhem was next out along with team mate 730 Wrecko with (A) 96 Wiggle doing the damage, (T2C)331 Rodderwood with just 9 laps to go expired leaving just 4 cars left running with (RW) 545 Adam Levett coming from no where to take the lead with (A) 414 Buzz chasing only to get caught on the fence but was eventually helped off by 54 Hardcore, meanwhile (RW) 498 Jason Curtis was lurking on the bends with (A) 54 Hardore giving (RW) 545 Adam a few head ons only for 54 Hardcore's car to go up in smoke, 545 Adam Levett took the win after 100 laps for the Riverview Wreckers with 414 Lee Busby runner up for the Anarchists which so easily nearly ended up last car running.
Next up the destruction derby with teams still warring against visiting drivers/teams, plenty of wrecks again, 10 Jake Simmington's Dodge heasre collapsed on the rear, just 3 cars left with 54 Hardcore loosing power leaving 170 Tommy Harding & 407 Craig Summers, 170 Tommy landing the last hit leaving both cars on top of each other to finnish off another night of banger action at the H.Q..
Thanks to everyone for making the night enjoyable & a great atmosphere aswell, the Old Skool Teams will return again next year.

This years Essex team final was contested by the Riverview Wreckers defending there title against the midnight runners. A slow start to the final saw 963 Allen Anderson (RW) come to a halt in the early stages, 515 Brad Alkins (MR) met 808 Dan Harber (RW) on the nose & 112 Scott Perkins (MR) weighed into the Mk10 Jag. of 498 Jason Curtis (RW). Both 112 Scott Perkins & 515 Brad Alkins (MR) soon expired leaving the Wreckers the the advantage taking out both of the remaining Runners cars & the Riverview Wreckers retaining there title for another year.

Would like to say i throughly enjoyed our meeting and the atmosphere was electric, welldone to the Riverview Wreckers for winning the Essex teams and the Old Skool Team meeting. Cheers Emma 01
